Unpopular opinion: I think bladesinger is inherently broken as a subclass in 5e. My problem with the archetype comes from the fact that wizards in 5e are full casters that derive most of their power from the base class. Taking into account this, a subclass of wizard that wants to get the wizard into melee combat runs into three possible scenarios:

Usually, Barbs have intelligence as their dump stat because it doesn't help them much, but bladesinging is intelligence based.
